Mk1 rabbit TDI conversion

Postby K2WAGON » Sun May 13, 2018 4:39 pm

So I'm finally getting funds together to buy the necessary kit/parts to shove the TDI into the mk1 rabbit. Need suggestions on what works better or who to buy from...
I'm open to suggestions and advice. Drop links and info

Diesel experience is [darn] near none, got the tdi+trans+harness+everything from under hood of the jetta donor. Budget isn't set, more like few hundred every 2 weeks hahaha. Just need to start buying parts and getting it ready to swap

ok, does that mean your Rabbit is not a diesel? Is your car a 2 door? What year was your donor?

mTDI or using the ECU? Under the hood wiring is not enough to use the ECU, need cluster, fuse box, DBW pedal, etc. How are you with reading wiring diagrams and meshing two together? Full electronics with cruise control/AC or would a minimum be ok? Hydraulics or cable actuated clutch? Motor mounting/trans mounting - there are kits (or look for one used just takes time). A lot of choices, which is why your goals are important, including how long you want to work on it.
