January 2016 COTM, Brian Iwanaleya's GTI

Your Name: Brian Alaniz
Car's Name: Adelind
Model/Year: 1997 GTI VR6
How long have you had your car? 1yr
Is there anything unique about the history of this car? Am I not unique enough? But nothing other than the fact that I purchased it from the second owner who had owned it since there was 30k on the clock.
Why did you choose to purchase this car? Well It's a MK3 and I like MK3's, and it was cheap so win win?
Does anything in particular influence the direction you take when modifying your car? I prefer to think of myself as an OEM + kind of guy, but I totally dig anything that is functionally and aesthetically more pleasing than stock.
What would you do to the car if money were no object? I mean who wouldn't love a massaged AWD 3.6L VR?
Who has been your biggest critic of this project? Ummmmmm Project? I don't know, but I guess everybody is a critic.
Personal Message or Special Thanks: I want to throw a shout out to all the fents, burshes and crubs that made this possible, don't want to forget the 4 brick man they definitely helped me prevent that load cam knock! Wait......why am I COTM again?

Car Details
Interior Modifications: Custom non functioning passenger seat to match the passenger side door latch, otherwise stock.

Stereo: Stock Tapedeck with Clarion 6 Disc CD changer (ballin' hard!)
Exterior Modifications: Standard missing MK3 rub strips and "City" bumpers.... Oh I did install some Polo handles!
Wheels/Tires: Stock......They 15's, but I keep'm clean!
Brakes: Stock Engine: Stock
Exhaust: Stock
Suspension: Stock
Future Mods: Probably some coils and something in an OEM or 16x8 flavor with Smoked Ecodes and some Hella Magicolor tails and a 2.5in exhaust. The engine is going to stay fairly stock, there will be come cleaning and some polishing and maybe some cams.....maybe. Keeping it Simple and clean in the end.

Very nice looking VR6! That was my dream car in 1995. Test drove a 1996, fully aware there was no way I could afford it. It was raining, and the car was glorious. Great car.
